The Light Spring color palette features neutral-warm, light and fresh tones inspired by late spring landscapes. Typical colours include peach, coral, light apricot, soft aqua and warm light beige. These shades complement individuals with neutral-warm undertones and naturally light colouring.

Light Spring is a neutral-warm season in the seasonal colour analysis system. However, because it sits next to Light Summer, the colours are lighter and slightly softer than other Spring palettes, while still maintaining warm properties overall.

Light Spring typically avoids very dark, heavy or jewel-toned cool colours. Shades such as black, deep burgundy, charcoal grey and aubergine can overwhelm the delicate lightness of the Light Spring palette.

Pure black can appear too harsh for Light Spring colouring because of the palette’s brightness and distinctive light properties. Alternatives such as warm navy, soft camel or light chocolate brown will create a more harmonious look.

Both seasons are considered neutral, but Light Spring leans slightly warm, influenced by its neighbouring Spring palettes. Light Summer, on the other hand, sits next to the cooler Summer palettes and therefore leans slightly cool in temperature.

Both palettes share similar value and chroma properties, which is why colours in both seasons appear light, delicate and slightly bright. However, the key difference between the two palettes is temperature.

As a result, Light Spring colours appear warm, fresh and luminous, while Light Summer colours appear cooler by comparison.

Light Spring colours are lighter and neutral-warm in temperature, while True Spring colours are warmer and more vibrant. True Spring represents the peak of the Spring season, while Light Spring reflects the lighter, end of spring season just before summer begins.

Light Spring colouring is complemented by subtle warm-toned metals, such as gold metals, which harmonise with the palette’s warm undertones.

However, the value and chroma of the metal are equally important. Because the Light Spring palette is light in value and medium in chroma, jewellery that appears lighter, slightly polished, tends to be the most flattering. Very dark metals or heavily antique finishes can appear too heavy against Light Spring’s delicate colouring.
