Color Analysis FAQs
What is Color analysis?
Colour analysis (also called seasonal color analysis) is a method of identifying the tones, depth and contrast that naturally complement your features — your skin tone, hair color and eyes. The result is a color season that tells you exactly which colors work for you, and why. It is not based on trends or personal preference, it is based around your natural colouring.
How many color seasons are there?
There are twelve color seasons, divided across four families: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Each season has its own specific palette of chroma, value and temperature. Your season is determined by the combination of your undertone, your natural depth and the contrast between your features, not by any single characteristic alone.
Can I find my color season from a photo?
Our online color analysis service is conducted from photographs according to clear guidelines. Your images are assessed by multiple analysts before your result is confirmed. If additional photographs are needed to ensure accuracy, we will contact you before proceeding.
Will my color season change over time?
No, your colour season is permanent. It is determined by your natural colouring, which is fixed from birth: the underlying tone of your skin, the depth of your hair and the contrast between your features. While hair colour and skin tone may shift subtly with age or lifestyle, your seasonal type remains consistent throughout your life. The formula does not expire. Once you know it, you know it.
I have always worn black. Can that change?
For many clients, black does not appear in their seasonal palette; however, colour analysis does not require you to remove black from your life. What it gives you is the knowledge of how to use it well. Worn away from the face, on the lower half of an outfit, as a bag, a shoe, a belt, black can be kept in your wardrobe if it is a colour that you love. It is when black sits close to the face that it can compete with your colouring rather than support it. Understanding this distinction changes everything. You are not losing black. You are learning exactly where it works best for you.

About the Results
How do I use my color palette when shopping?
Your guide is designed to be saved to your phone and kept with you on every shopping trip. When comparing a color against your palette, hold the item close to your face in natural light where possible, and ensure your screen is at full brightness as any reduction in screen brightness will affect how the colors appear and may make it harder to compare accurately. Zoom in on each individual color swatch when checking it against a garment.
What if I disagree with my result?
Many clients experience a moment of doubt when their result arrives, particularly if it differs from what they expected. This is a normal part of the process, and one we design for. If you have questions about your result, contact us and we will walk you through the process behind the result, or, our team will analyse a further set of photos.
