True Spring Color Palette (Warm Spring)

Through our experience styling clients both in our London studio and online, we appreciate that colour analysis is not always straightforward.

To conduct a precise seasonal colour analysis, it is crucial to consider three factors: the temperature of your undertones, the value of your features, and the chroma of your hair, skin tone, and eye colour.

Color analysis is a method of elevating your natural beauty without allowing your clothing to overpower your eyes or smile. The key is to put the emphasis on you, rather than solely on the outfit you are wearing.

It's important to note that these traits are not strict criteria for determining if you belong to a certain season.

Rather, they are general characteristics that are commonly associated with that season.

So, if you don't share all the traits of another individual who is also a True Spring, there's no need to be concerned.

Additionally, you may find that you receive a True Spring colour analysis result, but you exhibit some traits that do not perfectly align with all the typical True Spring characteristics.

This is particularly true for people of colour as most seasonal colour analysis advice is centred around white skin tones.

1. Your natural appearance is warm and bright with golden undertones. Please note, many people mistake having light skin to mean having cool undertones.
2. Your eyes are bright and have a clear look to them, as opposed to dark or deep.  
3. There is a medium contrast between your hair, skin and eye colour. 
4.  Your lips have a natural pink appearance.
5.  Your hair is warm and golden rather than cool and dark

The True Spring colours have a warm, bright and sunny feel to the palette.

When thinking of The True Spring palette, think of this as the very peak of the season, when spring is in full flow.

Looking at the overall palette you will notice there are no cool or muted colours.

As a True Spring, these colours neither overpower nor drain you, they will work in harmony with you.

This means that you will look radiant naturally and effortlessly when wearing these harmonious colours.

Yellow gold that is very shiny is the best metals to harmonise with your warm golden undertones. Stay away from cool metals such as silver, pewter or muted metals as this will clash with your warm and bright look.

Although it is tempting to gravitate towards colours we like, wearing colours that look in harmony with your warm undertones is far more effective. 

Achieving an effortlessly put-together appearance is a goal that many aspire to, but often seems difficult to attain. However, the key to accomplishing this look is quite simple: small details can significantly impact your overall appearance.

It can be tempting to deviate from your palette and experiment with a cooler or muted colour.  However, this will either clash or look draining against a head-to-toe Spring look.

Enhance your look by complementing it with nail polish colours from your palette. We assure you, it's worth it!

To achieve the best possible appearance, we recommend choosing a True Spring hair colour that enhances your natural features instead of opting for a drastic change in hair colour that goes against your colouring.

Flattering shades for you include medium golden blonde or strawberry blonde, copper or a medium golden brown. 

Be sure to avoid cool colours or muted colours such as mousey brown or ash blonde as they can drain your colouring and they will not work with your striking features.

Be mindful that dying your hair slightly lighter or slightly darker can throw off your contrast levels, so, It's essential to seek professional advice when choosing a new hair colour.

The perfect shade for you depends on a combination of the surface colour of your skin (which varies across all True Spring clients) as well as your undertone and contrast level.

Stay away from muted and cool colours as these colours are the direct opposite of the warm colours that look best on you.

This means that each colour season is divided into three subcategories. For the warm spring family, the colour palettes are Bright Spring, True Spring, and Light Spring. 

If you’re a “True Spring”, then you’re right in the middle of the spring season in the seasonal flow chart. You neighbour the warm Bright Spring and Light Spring palettes. 

True Spring is the warmest of the three palettes, whereas Light Spring and Bright Springs are not as warm in their undertones, as both of these neighbours the cool winter and summer seasons.

It’s advised to stick to your True Spring colours as these are the most in harmony with your natural beauty.

However, should you wish to wear more colours, then these two spring types are your second-best options.

Black is a frequently chosen colour for many people's wardrobes, particularly those in the corporate world. 

However, it is a common misconception that black is universally flattering. If you fall into a Spring season, black will not be included in your colour palette as one of your most complementary colours.

But, don't worry, there are plenty of other shades that will complement your complexion.

We encourage you to step outside of your comfort zone and experiment with colours like ink blue, chocolate brown, and shadow brown. These shades will add variety and depth to your outfits while still staying true to the warm Spring palette.

Let’s start with your True Spring neutrals. As a True Spring, you look great in blue, lotion white and milk chocolate brown. These classic colours are also easy to mix and match, so you can create endless looks with just a few pieces.
